The European Union warned Turkey Wednesday to complete long-awaited reforms, especially in the field of freedom of expression, before the publication of its annual progress report in early November.
“We are aware of the parliamentary recess,” Jean-Christophe Filori, deputy chief of the EU Commission's Turkey Unit, told the Turkish Daily News in Brussels. “Nevertheless Turkey needs to send strong signals for freedom of expression and law on foundations. We are flexible; there is still time to report on events that could take place in Turkey .” Full Text
